Our recent Club event, Cruising Butterflies, was made possible by 45 Club boats and lots of our Club members, entertaining about 120 children who attend Perth Children’s Hospital with a wide range of life-long health issues.

The day was fantastic, enjoyed almost as much by our Club members as by the kids, who were overjoyed to be out on the water. All in all, we had about 400 people to enjoy live music, Guide dogs, balloon trickery, and a BBQ lunch.

Compliments have been flowing in, and here are just a couple:

“Thank you so much for providing this amazing opportunity to Tash and her dad Steve. Sounds like they had a fantastic time and the photos attached prove it. Please pass our thanks to the Yacht club and all the Kiind and other volunteers. The boat they went on made it so easy for the wheelchair and I felt that she was safe (very important for me especially as I wasn’t there to check it out 😉)” FISHABILITY

“What an awesome effort from all involved – KIIND, South Perth Yacht club, boat owners, volunteers and anyone I have missed! Perfect weather also.

Personally, we went on a boat called the Duchess.

The owners Peter, Jeanine and their daughter in law Lauren were amazing!!! To give up their time and welcome us onto their boat the way they did was unbelievably generous

It created an amazing experience for us throughout the entire day

The boat was decorated beautifully and even equipped with a Pirate flag. The owners all dressed up for the occasion in Pirate clothes and they provided toys for the kids to have as well as some delicious food and drinks.

We were given a tour of the boat, they shared their knowledge of the area, we were given turns driving the boat and they also did face painting!!!  Nothing was too much trouble.

The family had all the time in the world for our little girl as well as the fact that they genuinely seemed to care about our journey.

We can’t thank Peter and Jeanine enough for the opportunity they provided our family.

Thank you KIIND and South Perth Yacht club!!!

What a fantastic day and such a great memory for our little girl “ THE DUCHESS
