Sunday afternoon Raft Up was Plan B after the weather forecast forced the change from the planned Rottnest Island Lunch Cruise.
4 boats and 25 members took part in the raft up requiring some impromptu catering to keep the groups fed for lunch. Vern and Judy Bailey are always perfect hosts onboard Holidaze inviting a big group of fellow Jetty 6 members to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. Thank you to John Spanos and Tony Walther for assisting with anchors both as we arrived and for untangling as we tried to leave. Cruising Section Captain Peter Coghill and Deb are enjoying getting accustomed to their new boat, a Riviera 3750 Gallivant11. David and Marilyn Barton onboard Sovereign Eight hosted the Willis’s who were all popular with the visiting cygnets. Garry Morrison and Amanda on Lone Star completed the group and played host to guests Peta Loche, Lee Holst, Len Randell and Annie McCluskey. Each boat boasted platters of gourmet nibbles and bulging ice boxes, ready for all to enjoy the SoPYC camaraderie.
Rocky Bay is rocky when wash from some big boats has guests onboard rushing to steady the platers and keep glasses sliding. The 63m Lamborghini with twin 2000hp engines yes 4000hp and $5million price tag produced plenty of attention and very little wash.
Thank you, Marcel, for organising the Rotto Cruise again this year… we are all keen and will get there!
