Last Saturday night some two hundred members and guests flooded the Club’s ballroom to celebrate Troy Dalglish’s two years as leader of the South of Perth Yacht Club.
With the Club decked out with a red carpet entry, burgundy backdrops, oversized cocktail glasses containing lights under ice, and feather plumes on each table, the scene was beautifully set for the theme “Casino Royale”.
Showgirls, resplendent in full costume, posed with guests for photos and escorted the Commodore into the room to enthusiastic applause when the time came. There was more to follow. As meals began, the dance team returned to the dance floor to present a stunning display of gymnastic dance.
Slim Jim and the Fats hit the stage after the meal and had guests crowding the dance floor before they had finished their first number. They were loud, energetic and all class in a high-energy performance which kept guests entertained all night.
Those who favoured a different form of entertainment ventured into the Quarterdeck, to try their luck at the gaming tables using the “funny money” provided on arrival.
By popular opinion, it was indeed – a night to remember!
