South of Perth Yacht Club enjoys a spectacular location on the Swan and Canning Rivers overlooking Perth City and caters for a thriving membership with a diverse range of boating interests.

Located less than 10 minutes from Perth CBD, the Club offers a complete range of sailing, power boating and social activities and opportunities for all. Facilities include water pens, hard standing for trailerable yachts and powerboats, under-cover storage for racing dinghies and marine travel lift and slipping facilities. SoPYC also runs a Sailability program and radio-controlled yacht racing.

Our sailors enjoy a wide diversity of yachting, both power and sail, with a very social cruising section for more relaxed occasions. Time trialling power yacht fleets are the largest on the river, and the fleet welcomes and accommodates the inexperienced and expert alike.

The next generation of sailing stars are being trained in our Sailing Academy, which offers an extensive range of training courses conducted by a fully qualified and talented team of instructors.

The Yacht Club caters for its members with an exclusive members’ dining and bar area. The Club is the perfect venue for any occasion; from weddings to Christmas parties, seminars and school formals. The venue incorporates the outdoor lawns and the beautifully styled Promenade and Beachside marquees.

The South of Perth Yacht Club is for members to pursue their interest in all forms of yachting and related activities safely as part of a vibrant, participating community of like-minded people.

South of Perth Yacht Club will:

To promote boating and to meet our purpose the club offers a wide range of services for boat owners. These include undercover storage for racing dinghies, hard standing for trailer-able yachts and powerboats, water pens for boats to 25 metres, swing moorings and slipping facilities, and an onsite chandlery “Coffee Point Marine Services”.

The Club has a licensed restaurant, with some of Perth’s best views overlooking the Swan and Canning Rivers and an uninterrupted view of Perth city. The restaurant caters for lunch and dinner as well as special functions. Three bars meet the needs of members and their guests while two outside areas cater for informal al fresco dining and barbecues. During the summer we provide two marquees for functions.

The South of Perth Yacht Club Sailing Academy is Australian Sailing accredited and offers a variety of courses in both sailing and power boating throughout the year.
