Spring has sprung, and what a beautiful spring afternoon/evening we had for the 2nd Twilight race for the Century 21 South Perth and Nail Brewing Twilight Series.
Our numbers had increased from last week, with 15 boats out on the water enjoying the race and the sunset, which was just spectacular. The course that was set was Course 4 which was for Ultra-Light winds, but with the wind picking up unexpectedly, instead of a shortened course we were all penalised, and did a second lap. Wasn’t a penalty for us, we all saw it as a great opportunity for more time on the water and enjoy the sunset even more.
One thing we didn’t see on the water while sailing was the Jolly Roger, and it was noticed that it was M.I.A – Sorry PC Phil Warwick, but we have now confiscated and is now up for grabs again. Remember – the aim is to keep it for as long as possible and have it flying each week without it being confiscated to collect the treasure.
Wheel of Fortune saw more laughs in the bar this week with Helios II holding 2 of the winning tickets – I mean they did have the odds stacked in their favour with 24 POB!! This saw Chris win the Nail Brewing prize and Peta won the Century 21 goodie bag. The last winning ticket was held by David from K-Factor and he got his entry into the end of season prize – which is still yet to be released.
We hope to see crowds and boat numbers continue to grow as the weather warms up. Twilight sailing is definitely a great way to get out on the water, socialise and then pop into the bar for your chance to spin and win a prize from our generous sponsors – Century 21 River Residential, Nail Brewing, Wilson Marine, Railway Parade Short Stays and South of Perth Yacht club.
